Sophie's weekend away...

Sophie has been having a weekend away. Mrs Keen decided she wanted to goto Leeds and see the city. Leeds is quite a far away from Essex so it look a very long drive to get there. Sophie kept saying "Are we nearly there yet?".

Their hotel was right next to the railway station. Sophie jumped up onto the window ledge and started watching the trains coming or going. "Cool, " shouted Sophie, "this is exciting!".

There were lots of trains and this kept Sophie happy all evening until Mrs Keen said they were going to a restaurant for dinner. Some of the trains were big and red and went very fast. Mrs Keen said that these ones travel long distances. Others are blue and slower, these ones only travel to towns near to Leeds.

The restaurant Mrs Keen found served Chinese food and Indian food but Sophie didn't like either of these. Then she spotted the sweets! They had trays of cake and even a HUGE chocolate fountain. Sophie put a marshmallow on a stick, put it under the fountain and pulled it out. "WOW", she shouted, "it's covered in chocolate!". She munched on this, getting chocolate all over her fur. Then she had another, and another, and another.

Then it was time for bed. Back in the hotel, Sophie and Steve setup their special bed and lay down.

Mrs Keen had her own big bed. Sophie looked at it and wanted to swap!

On the way back, Sophie visited her grandma. As soon as they arrived she ran into the kitchen knowing that her grandma always has chocolate in the cupboards. Naughty Sophie - you must ask first!

Then she went upstairs to see Grandad. Her Grandad buys and sells shares from his computer to make lots of money. Sophie took control and started pressing the buttons. Unfortunately the screen turned red meaning that the shares were loosing money - Sophie ran away quietly in case it was a button she'd pressed!

Sophie wanted to buy lots of shares in chocolate!

On the way back Sophie wanted to stop at Helsby Hill. It's very high and they could see all sorts of things around. Sophie took these pictures to show you the views!
