Little Bear is having a holiday in the sun...

It's Sophie and Little Bear's Easter school holiday and they are very excited. Sophie is going to stay with her Grandma and Mrs Keen is taking Little Bear on holiday. Sophie went for a holiday in the sun last year so it's Little Bear's turn now!

Little Bear is going to Gran Canaria. It is an island very far away, which means they will need to get on an aeroplane.

Little Bear needs his passport. This is a red book that tells everyone who he is. Do you have a passport?

He also needs a ticket. He takes the ticket upto the airport desk and gives it to the lady. She looks on the computer to see where Mrs Keen and Little Bear are sitting and then gives them their "Boarding Passes". The Boarding Pass is another ticket telling you where to sit on the plane.

They have to wait for their plane to be ready so they sat and had lunch in the cafe. Little Bear had sandwiches and Fruit Juice. Then they walked around the airport shops.

Then it was time to get on the plane. Another lady checked their boarding passes to make sure they got on the right plane. Little Bear was confused because there were lots of planes and they all looked the same!

They walked over the bridge and sat down, doing up their seatbelts.

Once everybody is sitting down the aeroplane drives onto the runway. "It's called taxiing," Mrs Keen told Little Bear. They had to wait in a queue for the other planes to take off before it was their turn.

Little Bear looked out of the window and saw the runway, this is the very long roadway that the aeroplane runs down to takeoff.

The pilot powered up the engines and the plane started to run faster and faster down the runway. Little Bear looked out of the window and wondered how they would get there if they were still on the ground. The plane went faster and faster and faster until eventually it seemed to just jump into the air and start climbing.

They climbed and climbed and climbed until they could look down and see the clouds - that's how high they were.

Once they had landed they got off the plane and had to show another man their passports. Then they chose their suitcases off a conveyor belt.

Finally they borrowed a car to drive to the hotel.

When they arrived at the hotel room, Little Bear ran out onto the balcony to look at the view. He could see the blue sea and the yellow beach. When he looked down he could see the swimming pool too!

Little Bear and his friend, Giraffe, enjoyed a drink of coke on the balcony while Mrs Keen unpacked the suitcases inside. They were very excited and wanted to go down the the pool.

Little Bear packed his towel, a drink and his book into a bag ready to take down to the pool.

Then Little Bear put on his Sunglasses so the bright sun wouldn't hurt his eyes. Don't you think he looks cool too?

Little Bear spread out his towel, and lay down to sunbathe.

He made sure he had plenty of cream to stop him getting sunburnt and also water to drink.
